I'm new to scuba diving, and I'm loving every moment of it. As a larger person I let my fears prevent me from engaging in many activities for years. My spouse is my biggest cheerleader and helps me overcome them. I hope documenting some of this journey will inspire others to get out there and find activities they enjoy.
For any diver who wishes to progress past your initial certification a dive log is used to verify your diving experience. It is also a useful way to memorialize your progress, tweak your gear to make improvements, and remind yourself of which dive sites you found the most memorable.
I searched far and wide for a dive log that suited my needs as a beginner. I'm still constantly tweaking my gear and wanted reminders to document the gear I used and how it worked out for me in a variety of conditions. I found lots of features I loved, but every log I looked at was missing some piece of information I wanted to track.
So I made my own! It turns out there are lots of affordable options for getting your own books printed. If you are interested in a copy and don't live near me, you are welcome to click below to purchase one from Sweek, my publisher <3
My spouse Lumiri is trying her hand at editing videos taken during our dives. It is crazy hard, so be gentle on her, and if you enjoy the video please feel free to hit the like button or subscribe!
In this video we encounter some beautiful fish, one lovely ray, and some corals. As with many reefs the world-over, the corals in the Florida Keys are struggling, both from bleaching due to global warming and from a disease that has swept through the area.
This is the first time I've ever been certified to do a sport! If you are in South Carolina and interested in diving I highly recommend Scuba John's dive shop in Lexington/Columbia.
