We love to get away from the world and commune with nature. We rented a "tiny home" style cabin for several days and went hiking during the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic. It was a perfect retreat, made even more enjoyable since we were able to bring the dog with us for every single activity we did!
The cabin had the cutest sleeping loft at the top of a ladder. Lumiri had to carry Sophie up as she was not impressed with the idea of sleeping alone!
We kept a fire each night. There is something so satisfying and soothing about sitting in front of a fire at night. And we cooked over it as well!
Almost everything was closed at this point in the COVID pandemic, but spending time outside seemed a reasonable idea. Lumiri chose this trail as it would be difficult for me, but not impossible.
At the top of the mountain Sophie dug herself a little hole under a bush.
The view from the top is more lovely than this picture would suggest :)
We stopped at the waterfall on the way back down. Sophie takes a majestic picture.
Lumiri took a break while she waited for the water to boil for tea.
I think this is the first time Sophie realized we might be able to outlast her! Don't worry, we shared some food with her during our rest break.
